Adom Waterfalls Tour Near Aburi – A Hidden Natural Gem in Ghana

Where Is Adom Waterfalls Located?
Adom Waterfalls is situated in Abomase, about two communities away from Aburi and easily accessible from Accra. Its close proximity to the Aburi Botanical Gardens makes it an excellent add-on for a full-day nature experience.
It is also believed that Adom Waterfalls is the main source of water for the Tsenku Waterfalls, adding to its environmental significance.
The Hiking & Guided Experience

Upper & Lower Adom Waterfalls
Adom Waterfalls is divided into two sections, both safe for swimming:
Upper Falls
• Smaller in size
• Features water gently cascading down rocky surfaces

Lower Falls (The “Jacuzzi”)
• Accessed by descending about 90 stone staircases, built by the ancestors of the community
• Larger pool and more immersive
• Slightly slippery due to rocks, but refreshing and rewarding

Swimming, Views & Canopy Walkway
Visitors can swim safely in both parts of the waterfall while enjoying the surrounding forest scenery. The community has also built a canopy walkway (currently under construction), which will soon add another exciting layer to the experience alongside hiking and swimming.

Cultural & Historical Significance
Adom Waterfalls was discovered by hunters from Bosomase village and later became an important spiritual center for warriors. In the past, warriors visited the falls to consult their gods for protection, strength, and success before battles.
The staircases leading to the lower falls were constructed by the ancestors, showcasing the community’s deep historical connection to the site.
