On Sunday ,13th October,2025,Ghana officially launched the December in GH 2025 campaign — a flagship celebration under the Beyond the Return initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).

The colourful ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House in Accra, brought together key government officials, tourism stakeholders, creatives, and event organizers.

In her address, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, described December in GH as more than just a festive calendar — “it is a cultural movement that celebrates Ghanaian creativity, identity, and connection to the diaspora.”

She emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s creative and tourism industries through collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development.

The CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto, also shared that the 2024 edition recorded over 200,000 international visitors, generating millions in tourism revenue and supporting thousands of local businesses across Ghana.



About “December in GH” 

“December in GH” is Ghana’s official end-of-year tourism celebration — featuring music festivals, cultural tours, nightlife events, and diaspora homecoming experiences across the country.

It forms a key part of the Beyond the Return initiative — the 10-year program that connects the African diaspora to their roots while showcasing Ghana as a global hub for culture and heritage tourism.

This year’s edition promises to be even bigger, with activities happening in Accra, Cape Coast, Kumasi, and the Volta Region, including:
